1939 Established Saika Shikiso Kogyo Co., Ltd., and took over the business of Saika Ganryo L.P. founded in 1931, and began production of general pigments.
1944 Acquired two other companies in the same industry and changed company name to Dainichiseika Color & Chemicals Mfg. Co., Ltd.
1945 Head Office (Chuo-ku, Tokyo) and Tokyo Plant began operations. (now Tokyo Production Plant)
1947 Opened Sapporo Office and Plant. (later renamed Hokkaido Dainichiseika Co., Ltd. Merged with the Company)
1948 Developed and succeeded in domestic production of colorants for polyvinyl chloride (PVC).
1950 Opened Osaka Office. (now West Japan Head Branch)
1953 Developed and succeeded in domestic production of mass colorants for chemical based fibers and synthetic fibers and water-based textile printing agents.
1957 Established Central Research Laboratory (now Organic Synthesis Research No. 1 Division, Organic Synthesis Research No. 2 Division, Application Research No. 1 Division, Application Research No. 2 Division, and Technical Coordination Division) and established a research system for pigments.
Established UKIMA Chemicals & Color Mfg. Co., Ltd. (consolidated subsidiary)
1960 Opened Osaka Plant. (now Osaka Production Plant)
1961 Listed on Second Section of the Tokyo Stock Exchange.
1962 Completed construction of the Head Office building.
Opened Hong Kong Representative Office. (now Dainichiseika (HK) Ltd., consolidated subsidiary)
1963 Opened Narita Plant. (now Hi-Tech Chem Co., Ltd., consolidated subsidiary)
1964 Opened Nagoya Office. (now Central Japan Head Branch)
Established Taiyo Kako Co., Ltd. (later renamed Osaka Kako Co., Ltd. and now Dainichi Color Composite Co., Ltd., consolidated subsidiary)
1967 Began production of resins for synthetic leather and surface treatment agents.
1968 Opened Tokai Plant. (now Tokai Production Plant)
Established Oyodo Dainichiseika Co., Ltd. (later merged into our company)
1969 Listed on First Section of the Tokyo Stock Exchange.
Opened Kyushu Office. (now Kyushu Dainichiseika Co., Ltd., consolidated subsidiary)
Established Nagoya Kako Co., Ltd. (now Dainichi Color Composite Co., Ltd., consolidated subsidiary)
1973 Established Tai Chin Chemical Industry Co., Ltd.
1974 Completed an epoch-making large-scale wastewater treatment facility at Tokai Plant. (now Tokai Production Plant)
Opened São Paulo Representative Office (now DAICOLOR DO BRASIL, IND. E COM. LTDA., consolidated subsidiary, now in the process of liquidation)
1977 Established Sambo Fine Chemicals Mfg. Co., Ltd.
Established Dainichi Plaboard Co., Ltd. (now Dainichiseika Kako Hanbai Co., Ltd., consolidated subsidiary)
1984 Established Daicolor Italy S.R.L. (consolidated subsidiary)
1985 Opened Hokuriku Office. (now Hokuriku Branch)

2014 Acquired Hokkaido Dainichiseika Co., Ltd.
2015 Acquired additional equity interest in Dainichi Plaboard Co., Ltd. (now Dainichiseika Kako Hanbai Co., Ltd., consolidated subsidiary)
Completed construction of the new Head Office building.
2016 Acquired additional equity interest in AEOLIAN Corporation. (consolidated subsidiary)
2017 Dainichi Color Composite Co., Ltd. (consolidated subsidiary) merged with Hiroshima Kako Co., Ltd.
2020 Established Bando Production Plant.
2021 Established Sakura Technology Innovation Center (STIC) at Sakura Production Plant. (UKIMA Chemicals & Color Mfg. Co., Ltd.)
2022 Due to the revision of the market classification of the Tokyo Stock Exchange, the company moves from the First Section of the Tokyo Stock Exchange to the Prime Market.
2024 Established Dainichiseika Insurance Service Inc. (consolidated subsidiary)
